At the centre of the exhibition ‘Country bin pull'em’ is an expedition to northwest Australia in 1938, where researchers from the Frankfurt Frobenius Institute - closely associated with the Weltkulturen Museum at the time - documented the impressive rock art of the Wanjina-Wunggurr communities. The exhibition brings the historical collections from this journey into a lively dialogue with contemporary works by indigenous Australian artists. Monumental copies of rock paintings, objects and photographs meet contemporary perspectives that make indigenous voices audible and visible. The exhibition was created in close collaboration with Australian partners. Guided tours in German, English and Spanish offer fascinating insights and invite visitors to discover the stories behind the rock paintings.
