Swensk Ton summer concert - "Where is Love"
Swensk Ton is a choir based in Frankfurt am Main and presents choral music from its Scandinavian roots as well as a variety of contemporary compositions from various countries near and far, and always in the original language.
This year we are devoting ourselves to the highs and lows of love. From the playful and amorous "Glad-Polska" (Nils Kjellström), which a newly in love warbles to himself, to the great 8-part soul-soaring "Amor de mi alma" (Randall Stroope) to the tenderly hopeful "Come to me" (Ivo Antognini), in which the lover at the end of his life hopes that his beloved from days long gone will come to him once again and gently bend down to him.
Love is also the subject of "Kızılcıklar oldu mu", the first Turkish piece we ever sang! The two lovers hope to get married soon - if only it weren't for their mother-in-law... Will there be a happy ending?
