Once a year, on German Unity Day on 3 October, Frankfurt becomes a stage for outstanding artists from the jazz scene at “Jazz zum Dritten”. With free admission and an open-air setting right in the heart of the city, each performance creates its own unique atmosphere – and allows the city to resonate to the beat of the music.

The Römerberg provides an atmospheric backdrop for a top-class jazz programme that celebrates German reunification, reflects on history and opens up new perspectives. “Jazz zum Dritten” brings history and jazz together in a unique way, creating a space between memory and the present.
