Birthdays should be celebrated. Especially when the person celebrating turns 147, we think. With a new format, the "hmf frequenz", a club night with DJanes, DJs, live music and guided tours, the Historical Museum invites everyone to a birthday party on Thursday, June 12. From 7 pm, internationally renowned musicians will be playing their favorite music. You can also dance to live music until 1 a.m. on Friday morning. The museum's exhibitions will be open until 11 pm.
Roxylight and Marycherry from Paris and Berlin will be on the decks together. Both are DJanes with a soft spot for rare vinyl treasures, Roxylight is active throughout Europe as a go-go dancer and promoter, Marycherry travels internationally as a radio host and event promoter. Both are guaranteed to get their audiences dancing with 60s garage and beat music. Finally, Robert Herz from Darmstadt will play contemporary funk and new disco.
Live on stage, the Frankfurt band Newmen will present songs from their new album Terminal Beach. Their sound mixes synth-pop, early electronics and neo-kraut with melancholic vocals. The band has worked with ex-Kraftwerk drummer Wolfgang Flür, among others; their albums have been featured on BBC 1 and elsewhere.
The Historical Museum is celebrating its 147th birthday for the first time with a long club night. Museum Director Doreen Mölders: "It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable in the Frankfurt Museum on this evening. The soundscape of the musical artists will prepare the ground for this and enable a very special visit to the museum."
All exhibitions at the Historisches Museum will be open until 11 p.m. that night, and food and drink will be provided.
