Almost three decades after their last release, acid jazz forefathers Galliano returned in August 2024 with their new LP "Halfway Somewhere". Galliano were the first act to be signed to the pioneering Talkin' Loud label. The group formed in 1988 around acid house DJ Rob Gallagher, but later turned to laid-back and jazzy soul, placing great emphasis on live performance and environmental issues. In the early years, it was a loose collective consisting of Gallagher, who rapped and did gymnastics, singer Valerie Étienne (aka Auntie Val), bassist Ernie McKone, drummer Crispin Taylor and many other contributors. In 1994, Galliano celebrated a great success with "The Plot Thickens", which reached number eight in the British album charts. After a 25-year break, they can now be experienced at Summer in the City with their brilliant new album full of memories of DIY club culture.
