Introduction to the German Romantic Museum

The German Romantic Museum presents unique originals with innovative exhibition formats that make it possible to experience the Romantic period as a key epoch. It is the first museum in the world dedicated to the Romantic era as a whole. Manuscripts, prints, paintings and everyday objects are on display in dialog with the neighbouring Goethe House. The German Romantic Museum offers a multimedia - in the Romantic sense synaesthetic - realization of ideas, works and constellations of people. Goethe himself is presented in a new light, and the 30-minute tour provides an insight into the museum's exhibition concept.
