Accessibility statement

The frankfurt Tourist Board is committed to ensure digital accessibility for people with disabilities for the websites www.visitfrankfurt.travel und www.meetfrankfurt.de. The legal basis is the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) in conjunction with EU Directive 2019/882 and - for public institutions - the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).

Status of compatibility with the requirements
The above-mentioned websites are currently partially compatible with the requirements of BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.2 - conformity level AA.

Non-accessible content

  • Individual titles containing English-language terms have not been labelled as foreign-language.
  • Individual PDF files and documents are not yet accessible.
  • Some content (e.g. maps or external widgets) is not yet fully usable with screen readers.
  • The video files used do not have subtitles and are not transcribed.
  • Depending on the contrast value of the image, the copyright information on the images may not be sufficiently recognisable.
  • The texts displayed on the website are not additionally presented in plain language.
  • Not all images have an alternative text that can be used by screen readers.
  • Colour contrasts and keyboard navigation are not yet fully optimised on individual subpages.
  • Not all content elements can be operated exclusively with the keyboard.
  • No editorial landmarks have been maintained in the individual stages on the individual pages. The reason for this is that our individual pages only describe one topic at a time, which is why further organisation with the help of landmarks should not be necessary.
  • A link title has not been maintained for all buttons where links have been stored (example: the button for submitting an editorial form)

Aspects already optimised with regard to accessibility

  • An alternative text has been maintained for all images that are not purely decorative.
  • The H-labelling of the headings was maintained in such a way that one H1 was defined per page and a hierarchical gradation of the other H-labelling was subsequently carried out.
