Pasión Afro Perú - dance performance on the Latino Treff stage
The dance group Pasión Afro Perú from Frankfurt am Main was founded in 2018 under the direction of Rosario Escobal. With children and adults, the group brings the rich artistic diversity of Peru to the stage. Their dances originate from the Peruvian coast, where they were developed centuries ago by people of African descent. Styles such as Afro, Festejo, Landó, Toro Mata, Zamacueca and Alcatraz show just a small part of this lively tradition. The dances are accompanied by authentic instruments such as the Cajón Peruano, Quijada de Burro and Cajita criolla, which bring the rhythmic diversity of Peru to life.
