On the roof of the Museum of Communication, amateur radio operators use modern equipment to explain radio communication. This includes global voice and data radio communication via shortwave, regional voice radio communication via ultra-shortwave, and global digital radio communication via Digital Mobile Radio (DMR).
The amateur radio operators are also happy to demonstrate how people can continue to communicate via radio in the event of a general power failure (“blackout”).
Visitors of all ages can also earn their first Morse code diploma – with professional guidance, it's not difficult at all and is simply fun!
There is no fixed program sequence; the amateur radio operators are happy to cater to individual wishes and needs.
