Cider, classic Hessian dishes and the in-house bowling alley make this restaurant in the north of Frankfurt a popular meeting place.
Only cider from their own wine press is served in this restaurant in Heddernheim, on the northern outskirts of Frankfurt - and has been since the middle of the 19th century. Back then, the Momberger family began to run a small pub alongside their farm, which they eventually leased to the current boss in the 1970s: Helga Greb now runs the business with her two sons. To this day, the half-timbered house dating back to 1532 is the place to go for anyone in Heddernheim and beyond who appreciates good cider, classic Hessian dishes and the in-house bowling alley.
The apples for the wine are sourced exclusively from Hesse; the wine is traditionally pressed in October. This is also when you can get the so-called "Süßer", the juice fresh from the press, and about two weeks later the "Rauscher", a kind of Federweißer.
