The builder and architect of the Holzhausenschlösschen – Johann Hieronymus von Holzhausen and Louis Remy de la Fosse – were already so “clever” when they built the new Holzhausenschlösschen in 1727 that they planned 24 openings in the façade facing Justinianstraße. The Frankfurt Community Foundation has been using the windows for many years for its Advent calendar, which is known beyond the borders of Frankfurt.
As in previous years, the Frankfurt Brass School, a cooperation partner of the Frankfurt Community Foundation, will provide the musical accompaniment for the opening. The ensemble “Vive la Brasserie” will play Christmas carols and well-known melodies for everyone to sing along to; admission is free and Advent punch will be served.
Until Christmas Eve, another window of the baroque water castle will be illuminated every day, revealing a silhouette motif designed with great attention to detail.
