Caspar David Friedrich is one of the most important painters of German Romanticism. Even during his lifetime, his works aroused both admiration and incomprehension. The German Romanticism Museum presents a selection of small-format paintings from Friedrich's later creative phase in the Cabinet of Romantic Paintings. Elsewhere, a museum station is dedicated to two prominent large-format works from his early phase. In this guided tour, you will immerse yourself in Friedrich's life in a variety of ways and learn more about his works, his friends, critics and critics.
