Curator's tour of the Ethiopian collection

Curator Dr. Konstanze Runge will guide you through the Ethiopian collection of the Icon Museum. The exhibition on Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity is characterized by the diversity of the Aethiopica on display and the uniqueness of its presentation. 500 years of Ethiopian Christian art and cultural history can be discovered here in exemplary fashion. In addition to sixteen large- and small-format icons, visitors can expect to see a wide variety of neck, hand and processional crosses in a wide range of shapes and materials as well as eight manuscripts made of parchment and several objects of liturgical life, including rattles, water jugs and ear spoons.
