Ebbelwei-Expreß (Apple Wine Express)

Nostalgia with a twist: On weekends and holidays, you can hop on tram cars from the 1950s, '60s, and '70s at the Frankfurt Zoo. The Ebbelwei Express takes a round trip of just over an hour, traveling through the city center and back across the Main River through Sachsenhausen. The fare includes apple wine, apple juice, or mineral water and a bag of pretzels.
By the way, you can’t miss the Ebbelwei Express: The red cars were strikingly painted with Frankfurt motifs by the Frankfurt artist couple Charly and Estine Estenfelder—ranging from Bembel mugs to Goethe to the Römer.
