For Rooftop Day, the Städel Museum is exclusively opening its roof terrace, which opened in 2024, with a breathtaking panoramic view of the skyline and the River Main.
But that's not all: in the Stiftersaal on the 2nd floor, you can find out more about Johann Friedrich Städel and the origins of one of Germany's most important art collections. An art educator is on hand to answer your questions.

A reservation is required for the visit. Tickets are only available online, unfortunately it is not possible to purchase them on site. The roof and the Stiftersaal in the Städel will be open for you on this evening, all other areas of the museum will remain closed. With your booked time slot, you commit yourself to an admission time slot. The duration of your stay is independent of this.
A maximum of 30 people are allowed to enter per time slot, admission times are every 15 minutes.
Please note that barrier-free access is only possible up to the Main-Blick room on the 2nd floor. For the Städel roof you will have to walk another 50 steps.
