Zum Rad
Under old chestnut trees, this traditional pub serves Hessian tapas and apple wine or sparkling wine.
Cider has been served in this pub in the village centre of Seckbach, on the north-eastern outskirts of Frankfurt and at the foot of Frankfurt's local mountain, Lohrberg, since 1806. It is still made in-house to this day and you can taste it! In summer, guests dine in the large inner courtyard under old chestnut trees, while in winter you will find a cosy spot in the parlour, the conservatory or in heated outdoor boxes. In addition to the classics on the menu, such as grilled rump steak, schnitzel or beef liver, the daily menu includes seasonal delicacies such as the "Frankfurt tapas platter", which combines snow flurries, green sauce, hand cheese tartare and beef salad with boiled egg, herbs and toasted bread.
Vegetarians have a choice of seasonally changing dishes, such as pumpkin and coriander soup or vegan vegetable wok with tofu. And if you like, you can try a glass of Rad-Secco, the restaurant's own sparkling apple wine – a tingling accompaniment, especially on warm summer evenings.
