Zum Taunus

Apple Wine Tavern
Regional Kitchen, German
A traditional institution in Frankfurt-Sossenheim: the cider comes from fruit grown on the estate. Specialities in autumn: "Süßer" and "Rauscher"

Only home-pressed cider is served in this traditional pub. In addition to the classic cider, you can also get "Süßer", the must from the apples, directly after the harvest and, if you fancy a little alcohol, "Rauscher" – cider that is still fermenting, the equivalent of Federweißen. Sweet, sparkling and despite its low alcohol content, the effect of Rauscher should not be underestimated.
The food is down-to-earth Hessian cuisine. There's no hip chichi here, just a big heart for Frankfurt Eintracht and a genuine, authentic pub atmosphere. The  "Zum Taunus" is a Sossenheim institution and has been family-owned since 1890.
