Zur Krone

Inn
Apple Wine Tavern
Regional Kitchen, German
Do you fancy a little country getaway? At the foot of the Lohrberg, you can get home-pressed apple wine here.

The Bornschier family created a real apple wine idyll in Seckbach, at the foot of the Lohrberg – a good 100 years ago. Even back then, the people of Frankfurt were drawn out of the city after work or at the weekend, and even today you feel like you're in the countryside here, both in the cosy, wood-panelled dining room and outside in the garden, where you can sit next to the half-timbered façade under two large chestnut trees.
The Bornschier family, who are now the third and fourth generation to run the "Zur Krone" restaurant, still press the cider themselves; the apples come from their own orchards in Seckbach or from the nearby Wetterau region. They also serve hearty Hessian classics.
