Hochheim Wine Museum

How does the grape actually get into the glass? The Hochheim Wine Museum opened its doors in 2010 and provides vivid information about the work of winegrowers.
In the historic vaulted cellar from 1902, you can find out how a vineyard is planted, what goes on in the wine cellar and how bottling works.
Warm light creates a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. Visitors stroll through the three exhibition rooms on red-brown tiles and look at an old vineyard plow or the decimal scales of the Hochheim winegrowers' cooperative, which were in use until 1979. Panels explain what is meant by "grafting", "ridging" or "trellising". And how does "corking" work? Thanks to the well thought-out, structured exhibition, the layman becomes (almost) an expert in wine production.
The wine museum, designed by experts, is somewhat hidden in the vaults of a former sparkling wine cellar under the "Haus der Vereine". If you follow a corridor and a staircase downwards, the door to the museum opens like the gate to a treasure chamber and you feel enchanted.
