FÄZZ on Friday Featuring Hendrika Entzian

FÄZZ on Friday, the concert series presented by the Frankfurt Jazz Collective FÄZZ at the ROMANFABRIK, has invited a guest who has had a particularly formative influence on FÄZZ: Hendrika Entzian. The Cologne-based composer, arranger, and double bassist has built a rock-solid reputation in recent years and has already worked with the hr Big Band, the NDR Big Band, the WDR Big Band, the Dutch Metropol Orchestra, and others. Her own projects—including her own jazz orchestra—have already earned her nominations for the German Jazz Prize and the ECHO Jazz Award. In addition, she has held a professorship in jazz arrangement and composition in Mannheim since 2025. At times, she served as a visiting professor and director of the Big Band master’s program, teaching the members of FÄZZ; as a result, they are now thrilled to meet their former instructor as equals and perform alongside her.

Since Entzian specializes in writing for large ensembles, FÄZZ will take the stage with its in-house big band, allowing her compositions and arrangements to shine in all their glory.
