Frankfurt Cathedral Museum invites you to an organ tour with Andreas Boltz
On Friday, March 27, 2026, 3 p.m., visitors to Frankfurt Cathedral will have the opportunity to have the famous Klais organ explained to them personally by Frankfurt Cathedral's music director. The organ tour with Andreas Boltz takes place as part of the public cathedral tour. On the organ gallery, participants can experience the organ up close, which is considered the queen of instruments, as it has the ability to sound as a delicate single voice or to reproduce the vocal power of an entire orchestra. As in many churches, the organ in Frankfurt's St. Bartholomew's Cathedral also serves as a guide to the spiritual world - it accompanies church services and can be heard at the Frankfurt Cathedral Concerts. The neo-baroque masterpiece from the famous Bonn organ builder Klais is the largest organ in Hesse and has four manuals, 116 stops and almost 9,000 pipes. This means that the cathedral organ can represent almost all musical eras. As part of the organ tour, cathedral music director Andreas Boltz plays sound samples on the cathedral organ, explains how the instrument works and its special features and introduces the history of the organ;
