Monika Haeger – Inside the Stasi

This one-woman play tells the story of the GDR from the perspective of Stasi informant Monika Haeger (1945–2006), who spied on civil rights activist Bärbel Bohley—played by Anja Kimmelmann. Recorded interviews with victims of the SED dictatorship confront the monologue with the consequences of betrayal and persecution. Afterward, author and director Nicole Heinrich and the actress will discuss the play with the audience.
