German Goldsmiths' House Hanau

Special Museum
The German Goldsmiths' House is located in a half-timbered building in the late Renaissance style in the heart of Hanau on the Altstädter Markt.
Built around 1537 and rebuilt from 1955 following its destruction in the Second World War, the former town hall is now a renowned exhibition center for the art of gold and silversmithing. Works by renowned, internationally renowned artists of jewelry and utensil design are shown on three floors in constantly changing presentations. The staircase is characterized by a wave kinetic, a sculpture by the Düsseldorf artist Friedrich Becker (1922 - 1997) that extends over several floors. A show workshop in the basement provides vivid insights, while workshops, guided tours, literature and more are also on offer.
