The roof gallery is not wheelchair accessible. Reservations are not necessary, but there may be waiting times. For those who are not afraid of heights, the climb is a wonderful experience – those who feel uncertain should exercise caution. We ask parents to keep a close eye on their children during the visit. Admission is free, but donations for a diaconal project are welcome.

The attic of the Rententurm tower is accessed via a historic stone spiral staircase dating back to the Middle Ages. Please note: Access is not barrier-free, and unfortunately there is no lift available.

The Städel Museum combines art appreciation with impressive views – the Städel roof offers a unique panoramic view over Frankfurt and the Main River.

Reservations are required for visits. Tickets are only available online; unfortunately, it is not possible to purchase them on site. The roof and the Stiftersaal in the Städel will be open for you on this evening, but all other areas of the museum will remain closed. When you book your time slot, you commit to a specific admission time window. The duration of your visit is independent of this.

A maximum of 30 people are allowed to enter per time slot, with admission times every 15 minutes.

Please note that barrier-free access is only possible up to the Main View room on the 2nd floor. To reach the Städel roof, you will need to climb 50 steps.

For climbing, you will need comfortable and durable clothing, similar to what you would wear for hiking in the forest. To prevent injuries, you must remove jewellery and tie long hair back in a ponytail. Long ribbons or scarves should be removed or stowed away.
