Frankfurt
Wine Queen

A royal surprise

Frankfurt and the wine

Frankfurt am Main has had its own wine queen since 2017 - and for good reason. After all, the metropolis on the Main has some surprising special features when it comes to wine: Frankfurt not only has a municipal winery, but also its own vineyard. The ‘Lohrberger Hang’ covers 1.3 hectares of vineyards and is part of the Rheingau region. A Riesling of excellent quality grows here, which is known under the name ‘Frankfurter Lohrberger Hang’. Every year, around 10,000 bottles are produced from the grapes harvested there - available at the Tourist Information Office Römer, among other places.

The Frankfurt Wine Queen represents this special wine-growing region - both regionally and internationally. The basis for her election is her membership of the Rheingau Winegrowers' Association, which was assumed on her behalf by Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main (TCF). The TCF also provides organisational support for the Wine Queen and accompanies her at numerous events.

Ambassador and host

As an official representative, the Frankfurt Wine Queen presents the Frankfurt wine-growing region at a wide variety of events - from the Rheingau Wine Market to the Main Festival. With charm and expertise, she brings people closer to Frankfurt's wine tradition.

The crown - a symbol with meaning

The visible symbol of the Wine Queen is her crown, which was specially designed for the first incumbent in 2017. Since then, it has adorned the heads of all Frankfurt wine queens. The design of the crown reflects the contrasts between Frankfurt as a major city and rural viticulture: the Frankfurt skyline and important buildings such as the Römer adorn the crown. These are surrounded by vine tendrils that end in a grapevine in the centre. The crown is made of silver and is gold-plated. Its design follows clear, minimalist lines.

Newly crowned

The new Frankfurt Wine Majesty is Kay Antje Lorenz, who was crowned by the then Rheingau Wine Queen Lena Orth and her predecessor Lena Roie at the opening of the Rheingau Wine Market on 3 September 2025. Over the next two years, she will represent the city and its wine as Frankfurt Wine Queen.

Congratulations!
