German Architecture Museum
The DAM was opened in 1984 as one of the first architecture museums in Europe. It organizes temporary exhibitions on national and international architecture and urban planning themes.
As a discussion centre for current issues, it organizes a series of conferences and workshops, issues numerous publications and is represented on national and international award juries. The museum architecture of the building on Frankfurt's Museumsufer was designed by the renowned Cologne architect Oswald Mathias Ungers. An abstract house-within-a-house was incorporated into the historic Wilhelminian-style villa, which thematizes the architecture with its very own architectural design elements.
